Virginians for High Speed Rail's Goals

Improve the quality and frequency of Amtrak Service along:

o   The Newport News – Richmond – Washington rail corridor

o   The Lynchburg – Charlottesville – Washington rail corridor

Develop passenger rail service:

o   Between Richmond and South Hampton Roads (Largest population without rail service)

o   Lynchburg to Roanoke and Bristol

Promote the Southeast High Speed Rail Corridor with enhanced service linking D.C. and Richmond to Hampton Roads and Raleigh, NC and beyond

Advance public-private partnerships and investments in high-performance passenger, freight, and commuter (VRE) rail services
